Nomination for Outstanding Senior Production - Dan St. Germain

I am nominating Dan St. Germain for Outstanding Student Production for his User-Interface design for the game Levy. User-Interface Design: Dan St. Germain designed the user-interface system in this game. This sophisticated and intriguing UI element was designed to show the floor one was on, the floor that called the elevator, the time of day, and the health of the player. It was stylistically designed to fit the elevator theme as well as fit in with the turn-of-the-century aesthetic nature of the game. Dan began iterating the UI design from the very beginning and constantly pushed it to be compact, understandable, intuitive, and beautiful. In the end, Dan was able to look at his designs, support what was working, and change what wasn't working. Nomination for Best Production - A Migrant's Lullaby

Submission for Best Production in Game & Interactive Media Design A Migrant's Lullaby Reason: This group of students were tasked with designing and developing a newsgame. They were given 2 weeks to design the game, including researching a serious or newsworthy topic, and then 2 weeks to develop the game. This group of students chose to work on a topic discussed by a class visitor from the YWCA of High Point: Immigration to the US. The team researched the struggles of immigration, and designed a game to inform players on the topic, while presenting the content in through the cadence of a lullaby. Will Bennet: lead programmer Reasons why this production rocks: Audio description and accessibility in media: This small group of game designers set out to create a video game that was accessible to hearing-impaired, vision-impaired, as well as mobility-impaired players.
